Our first stop in Sri Lanka was Sinharaja, and after a road journey of several hours straight after our flight, a few of us got off the vehicle for the short walk up to Martin's Lodge, which was a bone-rattling journey on road. I was glad I grabbed my camera, as within a few steps we ticked off several endemics, including this endemic, Layard's parakeet, a flock of which was feeding in some trees at a distance.
